Description:
Our client is looking for an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and results driven individual with strong management skills to join their Bulk Manufacturing team. The Manager BCG Bulk Manufacturing is responsible for the production according to production plans and in compliance with cGMP. This individual is responsible for managing the daily activities of 15-20 unionized employees in a cGMP facility in compliance with company policies. This includes responsibility for the preparation of all necessary documentation required to release the products to the Formulation and Filling & Packaging for examination. Generating, communicating and monitoring adherence to the Production Schedule. Manage process orders, and maintain inventory and recipe accuracy. Reporting to the Deputy Director, BCG you will have the following responsibilities: 1. Planning and Execution • Assures the production plan and schedules daily to 4 months • Optimizes capacity demand • Assures the detailed schedule including indirect activity of media, washing and sterilizing, material preparation, culture, harvesting and pooling, filling, freeze-drying and capping and multiple clean rooms • Ensures availability of raw materials, trained staff and maintenance and availability of validated facility and equipment. • Assists in the annual departmental operating budget and non-strategic capital investment requirements • Monitors spending against budget. 2. cGMP Compliance & Quality • Works with QOOQ and QOSA to: o Ensure compliance with GMP requirements, o Develop quality continuous improvement initiatives o Develops staff quality culture and GMP knowledge 3. Continuous Improvement • Follows and enhances lean management systems established for Bulk • Establishes and ensures continues improvement processes for team • Plans and manages facility and organizational improvements • Provides monthly metrics, and other reports as requested. • Participates in special projects for production process improvement projects to simplify processes, meet GMP requirements, address inspection observations, new technologies and reduce costs. to assist in development and quality goals. 4. Accountable for a safe workplace by supervising and monitoring compliance with employment and health & safety legislation.
Requirements:
Minimum Hons. B.Sc. in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Related Sciences. A post graduate in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Related Science or MBA is preferred. Minimum three (3) years relevant experience in aseptic manufacturing in a pharmaceutical clean room environment. Minimum five (5) years experience in managing/supervising a department with 15-20 employees. Experience in lean manufacturing management systems. Good knowledge of cGMP and Quality Systems in pharmaceuticals/biological. Understanding of key activities including formulations, sterile operations, filling and freeze drying. Experience in validation, aseptic processing, sterilization & disinfection. Understanding of microbiology. Good problem solving skills and documentation skills. Good communication and technical writing skills. Ability to lead and manage a diverse group of employees. Previous knowledge and use of SAP software would be an asset. Knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage time, people and projects.

Description:
The Manager, Maintenance Building Systems provides technical leadership and guidance as a strategic partner within the Maintenance and User Departments. This role is responsible for the development and implementation of a customer service program; process and facility equipment failure analysis; supporting the site maintenance program; managing the execution of maintenance capital projects and continuous improvement activities. These activities will be performed in collaboration with the Maintenance Services, EIT, HSE and the site User Departments again as a strategic partnership. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES • Customer Service: Act as the User Department "Single Point of Contact" for all Maintenance related issues. Manage all Maintenance related issues within each respective User Department which will include interdisciplinary coordination and maintenance activity accountability. (40 % of Time) • Reliability Engineering: Provide technical expertise to Maintenance staff and User Departments on all matters related to reliability engineering; reliability assessment and reliability monitoring for all process and facility equipment in collaboration with the Maintenance functional areas and the Users. (20 % of Time) • Maintenance Program: Develop and assist in the management of the Site Maintenance Program ensuring that it complies with the Global Quality Directives. Provide guidance and leadership to the Maintenance and User staffs to ensure tactical and strategic alignment of all involved. (10 % of Time) • Maintenance Services Capital Projects: Responsible for managing maintenance project team interventions through all project phases (concept, design, construction and validation); management of project budgets and schedules to ensure accurate and timely reporting of progress and financial results. (10 % of Time) • Engineering Capital Projects: Liaise with and as required coordination with the Engineering Department on capital projects to ensure that the Maintenance Services and User requirements and standards are incorporated into the Engineering projects. (10 % of Time) • Continuous Improvement: Continually improve the quality of the Maintenance Services provided to the site User Departments through facilitation of specific department initiatives, cross functional teams, CMMS upgrades and major maintenance shutdowns. This includes participation in short and long term strategic direction setting based on individual User department needs.(10 % of Time) CONTEXT OF THE JOB/MAJOR CHALLENGES This is a Maintenance Engineering position that will focus on the definition, implementation and sustaining of a maintenance program within our User Departments through increased customer service. The position will involve extensive interaction with the Users and Maintenance Services staff and, as such, will require an individual that is capable of managing and interacting with people. Particular challenges can be expected around time management and functioning in a stressful environment with significant constraints; managing multiple projects, coaching project teams; implementing and maintaining maintenance standards consistently in all User areas throughout the site. For each respective User area, this role: • Endorses SAP and PROCAL equipment master data registrations (new and changes) • Endorses plant maintenance task lists & bill of materials (new and changes) – including items, plans & materials • Supports / Leads Maintenance related Change Controls and Non-Conformances as required • Manages / coordinates the execution of Maintenance capital upgrade projects • Participates in the Maintenance annual area and site wide shutdowns • Co-ordinates the interface between EIT, HSE, Quality and Maintenance Services during the Project Execution Phase of all EIT capital projects • of all planned and unplanned maintenance work • Co-ordinates all utility shutdowns within User areas • Manages / Analyzes and Reports User asset performance with regard to all equipment characteristics • Manages facility and process equipment performance and area • Manages Shared Area space such as mechanical room environment, compliance and performance • Supports all regulatory inspections such as Health Canada, FDA, TSSA and FM Global • Continuously manages in a collaborative, facilitative manner to ensure a positive growing relationship with all Maintenance and Customer staff DIMENSIONS/SCOPE • The Maintenance Building Systems Manager interfaces and coordinates with all other positions within the Maintenance and User Departments. Key day-to-day decisions will include managing all Maintenance related issues within each User Department; establishment of maintenance plans for process and facility equipment; ensuring engineering capital projects incorporate Maintenance Services requirements and standards; assisting Maintenance staff with process and facility equipment failure analysis. • Supervises and monitors compliance with employment and health and safety legislation to ensure that employees work within policies, procedures and regulations applicable to their work.
