Provide oversight of capital projects and permits, including detailed project scopes, equipment procurement, and development of bid documentation and contractor selection, cost control, installation, commissioning and start-up. 4. Provide ongoing technical support to Operations and Maintenance through trouble shooting of both existing and new facilities and equipment. 5. | Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position will manage the quality assurance and quality control function at the plant to ensure that products and critical manufacturing supplies meet all applicable government, customer and company expectations for quality and safety. This position manages and develops Plant Chemists and Laboratory Technicians who provide analytical services to the plant. The QA/QC Manager also assumes the role of the plants Environmental Manager. Key Result Areas: 1. Quality Control Direct the operation of plant quality control laboratory to ensure the timely and proper release of products based on effective sampling and accurate and appropriate testing. This involves evaluating the frequency and points of sampling, determining the appropriate test methodology; ensuring that methodology is updated as technology and expectations change and ensuring the implementation of good laboratory practices. 2. Programs and Procedures Direct the planning and implementation of quality programs and procedures in order to ensure that processes and products comply with government regulations, meet customer requirements and company expectations, and achieve business goals. Works with operational units to perform root cause analysis and to initiate corrective actions identified through CAREs and external feedback. Manage all pest control activities for site. Act as Recall Coordinator who is responsible for final disposition of finished product. 3. Internal Audit Conduct internal audits, by coordinating customer and third party audits to ensure compliance with company, customer, and regulatory expectations. Work with operations team to rectify any deficiencies identified in quality systems. 4. Consulting Provide leadership, consultation and advice to all departments on issues related to product quality and safety and consult with divisional and corporate Quality Assurance on programs and policies that impact operations to ensure customer concerns related to quality and food safety are addressed and corporate quality requirements are met in the most efficient manner possible. 5. Training & Development Direct the evaluation, development and training of Laboratory staff to maintain a safe, competent and motivated workforce. 6. Compliance Direct the sampling and testing of effluent streams to ensure compliance with governmental regulations and minimize costs associated with treatment of plant waste streams. 7. Change Leadership Initiate opportunities for different and innovative approaches to addressing organizational problems and opportunities. Act as lead on the management review of key quality metrics, identification and leadership of quality improvement initiatives. 8. Safety and Environmental Ensure that the organization is operating within provincial regulations and is compliant with all requirements of the Ministry of Environment, local agencies and corporate policies. Responsible as plant environmental contact to all outside agencies. Responsible for all environmental reporting and duties. | |||

| The Engineering Manager operates as the functional leader of the Engineering department and is responsible for the planning, development and implementation of the capital plan including projects and permits. The position is also responsible for environmental compliance for the facility. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Manage the Capital Plan and act as a resource for all project work within the plant to ensure that the needs of internal customers are met. 2. | The incumbent operates as a member of the site senior management team. The primary responsibility of the role is the assurance of finished products of exceptional quality and food safety.
